Responsibilities are carried out whereby normal line management reporting is to the Principal Engineer of Systems Analysis Discipline, but project reporting is directly to the Project Manager or Project Engineer. The predominant responsibility is to the Systems Engineering Manager. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES To advise the Systems Engineer when preparing the technical content of fixed price bids, budgetary bids and studies including clarification to technical tenders. Analyse and Review the Subsea Production System, refining the proposed design to provide an optimised system where appropriate. Providing specialised System Engineering expertise for the company as a technical authority within the Analysis discipline. Respond to tasking requests and reporting progress to the Discipline Principal Engineer Delivering the timely issue of analysis reports for the Analysis discipline Handling discipline specific external & internal communications for the Analysis Team Familiarity and compliance with company procedures, project specifications and statutory regulations so that a standard approach to design is adopted whilst satisfying customer requirements for the Analysis discipline Conducting tasks within agreed time scales and budgets and reporting status and deviations to the Discipline Principal Engineer Ensure documents are fit for purpose & meet all client requirements Awareness of lessons learnt from all previous company projects & implementation Participate in Technical Forums in the Analysis discipline Support Principal Engineer and System Engineering Manger for the Interface with Centre of Excellence, SLS and SFD on technical development issues Participate as Analysis discipline in the training to improve Engineers Engineering duties on Tendering, Study and Project work, including advising on system specification, documentation and report progress to the Discipline Principal Engineer Ensure system & components are fit for purpose & meet all statutory requirements Participate in system design at system design reviews & ensure that work package design achieves system requirements When required to provide support to sites within UK or internationally COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications Degree or HND/HNC and professional experience in a relevant discipline Specialist training/Specialist skills Detailed knowledge of current Industry Simulation packages and Tools or similar Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software or equivalent business software Knowledge of applying the following: Standard BS EN 61508 SAR SRS FMECA Safe Failure Fraction Diagnostic Coefficient The following are preferred but not essential - Internal / external Auditor Knowledge of applying: Standard BS EN 61511, OLF 70, API 17N and API 17O Functional Safety Software HAZOP / ID Fault Tree Analysis Competence Extensive theoretical and working knowledge Safety Integrity Analysis techniques and practices with regard to Subsea Production Systems RAM Analysis SIL assessments Safety strategy, performances standards Safety Risk related analysis Personal Skills Ability to solve and come up with well thought practical solutions.
