Job description OBJECTIVES / SCOPE
Aker Subsea Ltd is required to maintain and further develop its management system in accordance with ISO 9001. It is also required to meet the company’s stated policy of continuous improvement in this area. These may be termed as the “corporate” responsibilities.

The main purpose of the Business Process Group is to support the organisation in the development, maintenance and execution of a robust set of processes that will allow the business to continually improve.

In addition the Business Process group will provide the Quality Management function to support the company’s Project execution activity by way of contract-specific Quality Planning and interfacing with Customer, Certifying Authority and third party Quality representatives.

This particular Job Function, in close liaison with the other members of the Quality Management function in Aberdeen, will assist in the provision of the above Project support activities together with the equally important development and continual improvement in the “corporate” functions above.

MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES
-Provide a local focal point for all delegated QM matters relating to Bids, Projects and other Quality functions as instructed.
-Align, support and communicate with Project Teams on Project specific issues including PEM gate reviews and design reviews.
-Prepare, issue for use and update Project Quality Plans.
-Ensure compliance with contract quality requirements.
-Liaise with Customer and Third Party QM representatives in pursuance of and compliance with contractual obligations.
-Support, conduct and report on internal, external & project specific audits, where required, in accordance with an approved audit schedule and specific Project requirements. Issue and follow up on NCR’s / Findings (if any) resulting from these.
-Assist the functional areas in the process improvement activities required to close out any Findings raised during internal audits.
-Conduct ad hoc audits or investigations into particular quality problems so that root causes are identified and effective corrective and preventive measures are put in place.
-Assist in the maintenance and revision of Aker Subsea Limited’s processes and procedures relating to the functional areas of the business.
Provision of direction, guidance, support and development of a Quality culture through the induction process and Quality bulletins.
-To support any new Quality Initiatives as required.
As necessary, perform other duties, requiring essentially the same level of skill & responsibility when required.
-These responsibilities may from time-to-time require travel to other Aker Subsea Limited UK and overseas sites and supplier sites.

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Requirements:
-A recognised Quality Assurance or Quality Management qualification or HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering discipline
-Formal training in the ISO 9000 Standards

Desirable:
-Lead Assessors Course with examination pass (recognised by IRCA)

COMPETENCIES
Essential Requirements:
-Ability to plan, lead, execute and follow up audits.
-Ability to facilitate and lead improvement processes.
-Demonstrable experience in the ability to review non-conformance, identify the cause and an appropriate course of action (incl. formal processing of issue and corrective actions), implement and verify sufficient quality of solution.
-Ability to understand and implement overall PEM within a project (Project Execution Model).
-Ability to establish Project Quality plans.
-Proven ability in Quality Management principles and methods.
-Proven ability in Quality Management principles and methods for evaluation,
control and follow up of sub-contractors/suppliers.
- Experience in a Project environment.
-Conversant in ISO 9000 Standards.
-Quality Management responsible function with similar responsibilities as described herein.
-Working knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications.

Desirable:
-Experience of SAP ERP system.
-Ability to motivate and train QM personnel in all aspects of the Quality management system.
