Job description
OBJECTIVES/SCOPE
Assume technical responsibility for the design and implementation of hardware solutions for work packages as required. To carry out maintenance and investigation activities at Aberdeen or offshore/offsite as required. Allocate work to sub-ordinates. Support workscope performance to maintain quality and budgetary levels and improve On Time Delivery. Assistance in producing quotations for Fixed Price workscopes. Ensure compliance with company HSE processes and procedures for all work being carried out in workshop/lab areas.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES
•Provide first point Electrical engineering support to all group engineers.
•Manage groups test equipment/workshop/lab.
•Ensure that any work carried out by self is in accordance with quality systems.
•Carry out FEED and feasibility studies
•Provide Hardware support to Projects, Products, SLS and Manufacturing.
•Ensure project workscopes are produced within budget and timescale.
•Mark up drawings and documents and expedite through to release.
•Assist with estimates of effort and best technical solution at bid stage.
•Establish client requirements for the Electrical products (EPU AND MCS) from specification
•Incorporate these requirements into drawing packs.
•Support the build of the SEM, EPU or MCS at ASL local premises, or off-site at external manufacture’s premises.
•When required assist with configuration and acceptance testing at ASL local premises, or off-site at external manufacture’s premises.
•When required assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
•Support the Electrical/Electronic product hardware during Factory Integration Testing (FIT)
•Demonstrate commitment to Operating System Procedures and the processes of continuous improvement.
•Ensure all work activities are in accordance with company procedures.
•Identifying processes and patterns of work areas and recommending procedures to improve standardisation and consistency of approach to SEDS Manager.
•Monitoring trends and new products in the marketplace, which could benefit the company, and recommending to SEDS Manager.
In addition to the duties listed, the jobholder is required to perform other duties assigned by his/her Manager/lead Engineer from time to time.

Essential Requirements:
•Degree or HNC/HND with relevant industry experience
COMPETENCIES
Essential Requirements:
•Expereince using IT Desktop packages such as word processors, spreadsheets, databases.
•Knowledge of Network Systems.
•Knowledge of Real-Time Control Systems.
•Knowledge of PLC/SCADA Control Systems.
•Relevant, demonstrable Subsea industry experience.
•Experience in all aspects of project lifecycle from start-up to completion.
•Ability to communicate with engineers/clients at all levels
Desirable:
•Experience in working to ISO9001 quality standards
•Experience in working to IPC 610.
•Experience in SIL Systems to IEC 61508.
•Knowledge of Network Specifications.
•Knowledge of SAP.
•Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD.
•System design experience.
•Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
