Job description OBJECTIVES / SCOPE
To assume technical responsibility under supervision of the Senior Electronic Engineer for the design of Subsea Electronic Modules (SEM) to be used within the Subsea Control Module (SCM). The jobholder will be responsible for the technical solution, quality of design and implementation of the design. The jobholder will ensure that work is performed within agreed budgets and timescales, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with company procedures and requirements of ISO9001-2000 standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
-Establish client requirements for the SEM from specification.
-Incorporate these requirements into either generic drawing set or create a new General Assembly with associated drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and Word format documents.
-Support the build of the SEM through manufacturing as required.
-Support the SEM during Factory Integration Testing (FIT) and Factory Assembly Testing (FAT).
-The development, test and maintenance of hardware related work scope within the Project Development, or Project Support Groups.
-Ensuring that any work carried out by self is performed within schedule and budget constraints and that company quality systems are adhered to.
-Developing subordinate engineers to improve quality awareness and experience of systems in use within the company.
-Assisting Senior Electronic Engineer with development and improvement of quality procedures.
-Monitoring areas of work allocated to self and reporting current status, estimates to complete, and resource requirements to Work Package Manager and Senior Electronic Engineer
-In addition to the duties listed, the jobholder is required to perform other duties assigned by his/her Manager/lead Engineer from time to time.

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Requirement:
Degree/HND/HNC qualified in relevant discipline, electronic & electrical or communications related.

SPECIFIC TRAINING / SPECIALIST SKILLS
Essential Requirements:
-Knowledge of Real-Time control systems.
-Knowledge of PLC/SCADA control systems.
-Knowledge of communication protocols.
-Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
-Experience in working to ISO9001 quality standards.

Desirable Requirements:
-Knowledge of SAP preferred.
-Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD.
-System design experience.

COMPETENCE
Essential Requirements:
-Relevant, demonstrable Subsea industry experience.
-Be able to establish, maintain and develop customer relations.
-Ability to diagnose and fault find to component level on PWA's

Desirable Requirements:
-Ability to communicate with engineers/clients at all levels.
-Experience in all aspects of project lifecycle from start-up to completion.
