We wish to appoint a Head of Business Development, Air to identify and develop opportunities for growing/expanding existing business in support of the business plan and strategy; to identify and mitigate the associated risks and gaining appropriate Board approvals to lead strategy development.
Reporting to the Air Managing Director, the key accountabilities of the jobb holder will be as follows:
- To initiate market trend analysis and competitor analysis to develop strategies to market the division to new and existing customers world-wide. This should encompass market shaping, prospect shaping and 'Must-Win' analysis
- To work with the individual business units to ensure that innovative and competitive capture-plans are in place for winning significant market opportunities to meet the targets of the business plan
- To identify risks and potential costs/losses to the division of pursuing opportunity with proposals to mitigate them
- Maintain strategic management of the business development function; direct, support, build and develop the business development team
- To develop and maintain a strong pipeline of business opportunities to ensure future growth in-line with coporate strategy and direction
- Lead strategy formulation, creating change with the Managing Director.

| Qualifications & Experience Requirements |
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant industry experience
- Membership of professional body
- Experience and evidence of working at a strategic level delivering high performance through inspiring leadership
- Has extensive broad base Senior Management experience of working with public or private commercial organisations
- Significant knowledge of the Defence industry and or working with Military customers and the Ministry of Defence
- Extensive defence industry experience in a senior business development/director role
- Demonstrable experience of bidding for large, complex programmes
- Demonstrable experience of maintaining an effective pipeline of business
- Significant experience of developing and executing business strategy in-line with business requirements
- Has an extensive and established network in the UK and International Defence Markets.
