We wish to appoint a progressive Health, Safety and Environment Director to lead on current strategy and initiatives as well drive forward with further development and imbedding of a H&S culture that is key to the business. Reporting to the Divisional Chief Executive, the key accountabilities of the job holder will be as follows:
• Provide expert advice and direction on current and future Health & Safety legislation, guidance and practices to ensure continual improvement and development of Health, Safety and the Environment • Continually review current policies and procedures to ensure successful control of Health & Safety risks and the promotion of a positive Health & Safety culture • Develop and influence a positive culture to Health & Safety and to develop behavioural safety within Babcock • Ensure the delivery of effective communication of Health, Safety & Environment objectives to the organisation • Ensure that regular inspections and audits occur and provide guidance on corrective actions • Prepare plans and budgets for training and awareness requirements for Health, Safety and Environment and ensure that training is delivered and evaluated • Manage and direct a Health, Safety and Environment Operational team that continually strive to imbed a positive culture who aim to ensure safe systems of work exist to minimise the risk of an accident or injury occurring • Initiate an environment driven by proactive leading HSE performance indicators • Play a key contributing part to the Divisional Board

| Qualifications & Experience Requirements |
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates will be professionally qualified and have held senior positions at the highest level
- Extensive HSE experience is required, along with the NEBOSH Diploma and ideally the successful candidate will be CMIOSH
- Extensive experience of delivering a high standard of compliance and evidence exceptional performance
- Candidates must have a proven track record of imbedding H&S behavioral change in relation to a safety culture
- Dynamic and enthusiastic the successful candidate will be comfortable working at board level with a natural charisma to engage everyone in a high profile safety culture
