Job Description
This business-critical role is primarily responsible for managing BAC Europe Card Services relationship with all media and other external stakeholders, organisations and influencers.
A proven track record in high-stakes big-ticket media relations – both driving campaigns and generating coverage, and responding to serious issues – is absolutely critical. Alternatively, a person with experience as a senior journalist dealing with complex business and or finance-related matters and with a strong news-sense would be considered. Or both.
This position will report directly to the European Communications Executive for Card Services based in UK, John Greaves
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Being the day-to-day media relations lead for Europe Card Services, developing and managing relationships with national, regional and local UK media, and providing counsel on media relations activity to communications leads in Spain and Ireland.
Working closely with leaders in the UK to understand the business issues and to translate business strategy into a public and media relations strategy.
Providing advice to business management teams on strategic reputational and communications issues and managing critical business stakeholders
Working closely with affinity partner communications functions on joint initiatives and issues and an ability to act as media spokesperson on designated issues
Contributing to the development of a strong communications culture
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
•Proven track record in media relations for a large, complex multi-national organisation and of advising senior executives on communications and reputational issues.
•Superior verbal and written communications skills
•Business knowledge and acumen
•In depth understanding of all media including mainstream, regional, trade, TV, radio and all social media.
•Excellent awareness of the external environment in which Bank of America Europe Card Services operates
