Job Title: Inspector - Sr.

We are currently looking to fill the role of a Sr. Inspector to join our Asset Integrity team.

Duties include:

  • Coordinates inspection of refinery equipment to ensure integrity and reliability
  • Supervises contract NDE Technicians, Co-Op Students and mentors more junior inspectors.
  • Responsible to calculate accurate corrosion rates and remaining life calculation of refinery pressure equipment and piping as defined by API methodologies
  • Evaluates, predicts and schedules replacement of refinery equipment
  • Strong contributor to capital and expense budgets
  • Contribute to the development of turnaround and shutdown priorities
  • Strong contributor to the Asset Integrity Group
  • Solid knowledge and awareness of Damage Mechanisms (API 571) and processes within the Refinery
  • At times will be assigned area lead responsibilities
  • Lead projects with broad scope in own discipline with potential longer term focus
  • Proactive in identifying asset integrity related risk
  • Solves complex/ambiguous problems within all inspections areas of expertise.
  • Prepares inspection reports. Advised to consider peer review of reports prior to distribution by the Area Lead API Inspector. Throrough understanding of RBI (API 581) and FFS Evaluation Techniques (API 579)
  • Performs audits of vendors and fabricators to ensure compliance with refinery and industry codes, standards and specifications for projects and capital projects.
  • Perform other duties as required to maintain and enhance departmental team productivity
  • 8-20 years experience in industry
  • Typically has post secondary education with other industry related certifications
  • API 510 certification required. Has experience and certification in some or all of the following: CWB, Thermography, API, CGSB, National Board, Nace etc.
  • Has strong conceptual, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, documentation, and time management
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and innovation and can go beyond immediate assignments and act on opportunities
  • Must demonstrate visible safety leadership
