We are currently looking for a Human Resource Generalist to join our Irving Energy Distribution & Marketing Team.  This position will be responsible for providing Human Resource support for both our Atlantic Canada and New England Operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the recruitment process including developing the recruitment strategy, posting of positions, prescreening, interviewing and completion of reference checks.
  • Developing relationships with 3rd party resource providers and educational facilities to support a continuous source of qualified applicants.
  • Working with the HR Team in creating and slotting Role Profiles.
  • Reporting of monthly/quarterly recruitment activities.
  • Supporting managers in the delivery of the new employee orientation programs and tracking all new hire paperwork.
  • Providing general information on established HR policies and procedures to respond to employee and manager inquiries.
  • Scheduling and coordinating Employee Engagement activities throughout the business.
  • Maintaining employee confidence by keeping information confidential.
  • Collaborating with Employee Services team to deliver accurate and timely human resource, payroll and benefit information.
  • Managing our internal employee change form process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinating and execution of HR processes, procedures and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, employment legistlation, etc.


  • University degree and/or equivalent
  • Completion of CHRP or HR Designation an asset
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in Human Resources
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and demands at once, while meeting various deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a professional and confidential manner
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams
  • Proficient in Excel as well as pivot tables
