Job Title: Retail Sales Manager - Quebec

Irving Oil is the regional refining and marketing company serving customers in Eastern Canada and New England. Currently, we are looking for a Retail Sales Manager in Quebec to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for new volume growth in the Quebec market place through new accounts (meeting Irving criteria).
  • Responsible for detailed market assessments of potential sites in each geographical area.
  • Familiarity with the industry and typical fuel supply offers.
  • Negotiate new supply contracts with potential new Irving retailers.
  • Proactively collaborate with management on sales growth plans & initiatives.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and build the Irving brand as a strong supplier in the market.
  • Fully understand the IOM marketing & sales initiatives and communicate the programs to the field.
  • Work closely with marketing and IT to ensure we have a competitive offering in the market that meets the needs of our dealers.
  • Work with credit managing and limiting exposure to risk. 
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • A university/college degree/diploma preferred.
  • Strong Negotiation skills.
  • 5-10 years experience of direct selling/relationship management withing the energy sector.
  • A proven track record of successful sales prospecting and personal contact.
  • Established contacts within the fuel supply industry.
  • Fluently bilingual - French/English
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrate credibility at senior level with customers/accounts and internal stakeholders.
  • Personal impact and strong presentation skills.
  • Recognized empowerment/delegation skills.
  • Team Player.
  • Track record of delivering and exceeding objectives/targets.
  • Takes personal ownership of targets.
  • Self Motivated.
  • Fast Paced.
  • Independent decision making within established criteria.

  • Primarily field based position with regular travel and overnights required.
